Ohio State vs Penn State: NCAA Football Game Of The Week 9

This is a game that I’ve had circled on my calendar for a while now. While it lost some of its big game feel when Penn St. lost to Illinois, there’s still plenty to like in regards of 2022 NFL Draft prospects. Below I’ve listed a handful of prospects from both teams that I’ll be keeping my eyes on during the matchups.

Ohio State vs Penn State- October 30 4:30 PM PST

Ohio State Players

For Ohio State, wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave are givens. Many draft experts had these two listed within the top 2 or 3 of their wide receiver board before the season started. While others have now jumped into that conversation, these are still two of the best wide receiving prospects heading into the 2022 NFL Draft. Marcus Hooker has dealt with off the field issues that prevented him from playing in the Buckeyes first three games of the season. Hooker was a top 50 prospect for Draftdive before the season started, and this will be his first real test since getting back on the field. Haskell and Petit-Frere are a couple more players near the top of their respective positions that I’m looking forward to watching closer.

Penn State Players

Penn St. is a team I’m pretty familiar with having personally scouted a handful of players earlier in the season. Dotson is a super athletic wide receiver that is shifty in the open field. Brisker is a sideline-to-sideline, aggressive, hard-hitting safety that flies around and is one of my favorite players in the draft. Walker is overlooked at the tackle position, but he is smooth in his pass protection and solid in the running game. Two players I want a better look at on Penn St. are Smith and Ebiketie. Smith is a junior linebacker that’s made 37 tackles with a sack this season. Ebiketie is a defensive lineman that transferred from Temple. Through six games he’s already racked up 31 tackles with four sacks.

Game Overview

With a good mix of offensive and defensive players, you’ll have plenty to keep yourself entertained during this critical matchup. Ohio St. still has a lot to play for as they attempt to climb back into the top 4 nationally. Penn St., on the other hand, is in spoiler mode and hoping that a miracle happens to get them back in the Big Ten East race. I’ll be practically interested in seeing the type of energy both teams bring to into this game.
