Justin Hollins NFL Draft Sleeper

I’m a damn good football player and a good guy too.

Justin Hollins

LB Justin Hollins interviewing during the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Introduction

Justin Hollins is an edge rusher/outside linebacker from the University of Oregon. He measured in at 6’5”, 248 lbs. with 33 and 3/8 inch long arms. He tested very well at the Combine. He ran a 4.5 second 40 yard dash and a 4.4 second shuttle with a 7.06 second cone drill. He did 25 reps on the bench press and jumped 36.5 inches on the vertical with a 119 inch broad jump. He has been training at Mamba Sports in California.

Stats

Hollins forced the most fumbles in the NCAA over 2017 and 2018. He also was the Shrine Game MVP with 10 tackles, 3 for loss, and 2 sacks. He has played defensive end in the 4-3 as well as outside linebacker in the 4-3 and the 3-4. He’s a versatile player who would be able to play any of these positions in the NFL. Hollins is most recognized for rushing the passer, but he is also able to drop into coverage as he had seven passes defended. He also played special teams his freshman year.

Hollins describes himself as a versatile athlete who can play anywhere. He also says he has the toughness, physicality and speed to be successful in many positions. He thinks his game compares best to Von Miller’s as he’s quick off the edge and bends the corner. He considers his best game film to be San Jose State, Michigan State, and UCLA. He’s also a golfer, which I think helps with mental discipline and planning.

Projection

Hollins was projected to get drafted in the 5th round or later by most sites. His strong Combine and Shrine Game MVP have him moving up draft boards. If he’s going to play defensive end he could use a few more pounds, but the fact that he can cover as well as rush the passer makes it more likely that he will end up as an outside linebacker. He’s a playmaker, he makes sacks, tackles for loss and fumbles. He’s met with every team between the Shrine Game and the Combine.

Draft Dive Grade: 2nd to 3rd Round

Likely Landing Spot: Very open, but he gave a special shout out to his Shrine Game coaches. Who was his Shrine Game coach? Adam Zimmer. The Vikings need an outside linebacker and while this is obviously a very lofty comparison, Hollins reminds me of Anthony Barr both physically and skill wise. I’ll guess the Vikings take him in the 3rd round. Hollins, Jelks, and Amadi make up quite a trio of sleepers from the University of Oregon. Justin Hollins NFL Draft sleeper, but not for long.
