Ethan Greenidge NFL Draft Prospect Report

“If you put people in the dirt you’re doing your job,”

Ethan Greenidge

Introduction

Greenidge is a senior offensive tackle from Villanova. He measured in at 6’4”, 327 pounds with 34 and 3/4 inch arms. Greenidge did not participate in drills during the Combine or at the Villanova pro day, as he is recovering from surgery to fix a torn labrum.

Greenidge told me that he is most comfortable in a zone blocking scheme and that he has been in that type of scheme since high school. However, he is confident in his ability to learn any scheme. He feels he can be a swing lineman, and he said he is comfortable at any position.

Nastiness

Greenidge told me as the years have gone by he has upped his nastiness since his freshman year. He said he was just focused on blocking and doing his job, but he learned that if he was putting people in the dirt he was doing his job.

Positives

Greenidge has good size, arm length, and hand size. He is a versatile offensive lineman who could end up playing tackle or guard. Ethan is also a four year starter, so he has good experience playing football. He also has decent foot speed to deal with outside rushers.

Negatives

One big problem I noticed is that Greenidge can get beat inside more than he should. He seems to focus on moving to the outside, which leaves him open for inside moves. He also is stiff, standing up too straight instead of getting lower than the defensive lineman.

Prediction

Overall, Greenidge’s biggest strength is his versatility, that will get him drafted. He’s a third day prospect, but I believe his ability to play multiple offensive line positions will help him make a team’s final roster.

Draft Day Grade: 5th-7th round

Likely Landing Spots: A zone blocking team, Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams could all use some offensive line depth and run a zone scheme.
