Texas A&M Offense vs. Arkansas Defense
Texas A&M has a lot of NFL talent including four entries in our top 50 prospects. Isaiah Spiller has looked strong this season at running back. It helps to have Kenyon Green on the offensive line creating holes for you. It will be interesting to see if Arkansas safety Jalen Catalon is able to help contain Spiller. I am also interested in seeing if Arkansas plays Catalon deep or if they have him try and cover talented tight end Jalen Wydermyer. Helping Catalon in the defensive backfield is cornerback Montaric Brown. Along with the players already mentioned, A&M has RB/WR Ainias Smith to deploy all over the field. Brown and Catalon could make a real statement by limiting some of the Aggies talented offensive weapons.
Arkansas Offense vs. Texas A&M Defense
Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks is one prospect everyone has their eye on as a projected first rounder. I want to see A&M safety Demani Richardson match up with him. Richardson was a star last year until he got covid and his play dropped off. Burks is a big physical receiver and Richardson is a big physical safety. This game will show if Richardson is back to playing his best game, or if he’s still recovering. The Arkansas Razorbacks have a talented offensive line, three likely 2022 NFL Draft picks. They’re going to be tested by star defensive tackle DeMarvin Leal. Leal can play both inside and outside, so he may end up testing center Ricky Stromberg, tackle Myron Cunningham and interior lineman Ty Clary on Saturday.
Fellow defensive lineman Jayden Peevy is a big boy on the inside, so Stromberg and Clary will definitely be seeing him. The trenches will be the most interesting place to scout during this game. It looks like Texas A&M’s defensive line should have the advantage. If Arkansas’ offensive line handles the Aggies higher ranked defensive lineman, then it’s time to move Stromberg, Cunningham and Clary up your draft boards.
