Help For Patrick Venzke

This is going to be a very different kind of post. I would rather be typing out a scouting report on a small school player for the upcoming college football season, but this is something much more important. I’m posting on here to ask for help for a friend of mine, NFL Alumni Patrick Venzke. Patrick was the first German player in the NFL and the first European non kicker in the NFL. Venzke played his college football for the Idaho Vandals before being signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also spent time on the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles. Venzke also spent time in NFL Europe playing for the Rhein Fire and Frankfort Galaxy.

I met Patrick during my time at the University of Idaho, he was actually recovering from a torn labrum and came back to school to finish his degree. We ended up in numerous business classes together and it was hard to miss him. He’s 6’7″ around 350 lbs with a thick German accent. We became friends, big football players must like having little football nerds to talk to. Patrick and I have stayed in contact for the last 15+ years, whether we were talking football, mental health or about numerous other topics. He was always willing to lend a hand and help where he could, and I’m happy to try and return the favor as best I can.

Click here for the GoFundMe that Patrick started to pay for his treatment. I mentioned that big football players must like little football nerds, so I’ve reached out to my contacts in sports to try and put together some items to giveaway to donors. Hopefully I’ll be updating this post soon with cool things to raffle off to donors from our DraftDive readership. I’m not a guy to reach out for help, but I’ll always do whatever I can for my friends. Thank you all for your readership, and feel free read up on your team and it’s players to keep things lighter and more entertaining.
